About Us

We're so glad that you've decided to visit us! First Christian Day School is a private, Christian preschool and Kindergarten, serving Waxahachie and the surrounding communities since 1982. We teach every subject from a Christian worldview and a biblical perspective, and our teachers understand that in order for children to learn and grow academically, they must also grow socially, emotionally, and spiritually. Our classes build on previously learned skills in a continuously scaffolding program, which prepares students to transition confidently into elementary school at first grade. We encourage you to visit us in person, and to see why First Christian should be your first choice for your child's formative first years of education!

Founded in 1982, First Christian Day School serves students in Waxahachie and the surrounding areas by providing classes for Preschool (PK2 - PK4) and Kindergarten students. Our school, hosted by First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), teaches Bible-based religion and is dedicated to providing a Christian atmosphere in which children may grow and thrive.

The mission of First Christian Day School is to orchestrate positive, Christ-centered learning experiences for each student, each day. Children are given opportunity to learn through play and exploration. Through these experiences, students develop academically, spiritually, physically, and emotionally. With the help of caring teachers and administrators, students will begin to understand the value of personal achievement and responsibility; to respect and care for others; and to place their trust in God’s loving kindness.

Students of all ages - from the smallest 2-year-old to the graduating Kindergartner - are actively taught and expected to practice life skills appropriate for their age and development. Faith is a fundamental part of our program and is enhanced with daily Bible lessons and weekly group chapel services. Along with the essentials of language, math, social studies and science, students also participate in art, physical education, and music classes.
